Venture Bank Hydro To Compete at Seafair August 4
Olympia, Wash., July 27, 2006 -
Venture Bank is riding a wave of fresh publicity, thanks to the thousands of Seafair fans who will see the bank’s logo blazing by during the popular hydroplane races on Lake Washington.
Venture Bank is sponsoring Olympia owners Rick and Shawn Bridgeman’s (G-17) G-Boat Hydro in the famed American Challenge Cup Series, with Seattle’s preliminary trials beginning Friday, August 4.
“The Seafair races on Lake Washington have been among some of the best hydroplane races we have seen in this country.” says Jim Arneson, Venture Bank President and CEO. “We are proud to support the Venture Bank team in the G series races. It is racing as many of us remember growing up – loud and exciting.”
The Bridgeman’s hydroplane measures 26 feet in length, weighs 3,592 pounds and is powered by a 1500-horsepower, methanol-fueled 509 cubic-inch engine.
The hydro will be driven by Dustin Echols and will be competing against some of the fastest hydros in the world. Seafair’s American Challenge Cup Series runs August 4 through the 6th.
Fans wishing for an up-close and personal encounter with driver Echols, as well as specs and more detailed info on the hydro––including autographed, ready-to-frame posters of the boat in action––are encouraged to attend the first-ever Seafair Hydro Mania Fan Fest to be held at the Seattle Center on Tuesday, August 1 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm.
