Bounce Protection® is a feature of your Venture Bank checking account where we may honor overdrafts up to your overdraft limit.** With this feature activated on your checking account, you will know that your checks, ATM withdrawals, Visa Check Card Purchases, and other transactions may be honored up to your Bounce Protection® Limit.

 

What does my Bounce Protection® privilege cost?

  • There is no additional cost associated with this overdraft privilege.
  • A $30 NSF fee will be charged for each check paid under the limit.
  • Remember, checks drawn up to the limit will not be returned, saving you the embarrassment and expense associated with the returned check fee. This privilege can save you money.

 

If I'm a new account holder, how soon can I use my Bounce Protection®?

 

When you keep your account in good standing and make regular deposits, your overdraft privilege limit should be available to your account 30 days after the account is opened.

How do I know when I use the overdraft limit?

  • You will receive an overdraft notice in the mail each time items are paid.
  • The notice will show the check number, check amount, and NSF fee.
  • You should subtract the $30 NSF fee from your checkbook.

 

What if I go beyond my Bounce Protection® limit?

  • Overdrafts above and beyond your established Bounce Protection® limit may result in a check or checks being returned to the payee.
  • Remember, the fee for paying an item is the same as for returning one.
  • The standard $30 NSF fee will be charged per check and assessed to your account.
  • Venture Bank will continue to notify you by mail of any returned overdrafts.

 

How quickly must I repay my Bounce Protection®?

  • You should make every attempt to bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days.
  • If you are not able to do so, you will receive a letter from Venture Bank informing you of the situation and your options.
  • If, after a period of time, your account has not been brought into a positive balance, we will have no option but to close your account and take other steps to recover funds.

 

What are some of the ways I may have access to Bounce Protection®?

 

You may have access to your Bounce Protection® through:

  • Checks and other withdrawals cashed at teller windows.
  • ATM card or VISA Check Card.
  • ACH withdrawal transactions.
  • Checks issued to a third party.
  • Telephone Banking
  • Online Banking

 

When I call Venture Bank's telephone banking or view my account via online banking to get my balance, is my Bounce Protection® limit included?

 

Yes, your Bounce Protection® limit will be included in your available balance in online banking and telephone banking.

 

Is my Bounce Protection® limit included on my ATM receipts?

 

Yes, your Bounce Protection® limit will be included in your available balance on your ATM receipts.

 

What if I do not want to have Bounce Protection® on my checking account?

 

In the event you would like to have this service removed from your account, you may do so by simply calling (888) 373-2265 or (360) 456-0880. However, once this service is removed, you should keep in mind that if an item is presented for payment and there are not sufficient funds in your account, the item may be returned to the payee and our standard NSF fee of $30 will be charged per item.

 

** Your account must be in good standing - which is defined as making regular deposits and bringing your checking account to a positive balance at least one every 30 days. Your Bounce Protection® limit includes overdrafts as well as our standard insufficient funds (NSF) fee of $30 per item. Your bounce protection limit will vary, depending on the type of account you have.
