| Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've submitted
my application but I haven't received a response.
A: We may not
have received all the information we need. Please
e-mail
us* or contact us at (800) 622-3518 to fix this
problem.
Q: Do I have to
enter my Social Security number?
A: No.
Remember, all your information is being submitted through in a
secure environment. If you feel uncomfortable entering this
information, however, you may enter a number that is obviously
false (such as 111-11-1111). We will need your actual Social
Security number in order to process your loan, which we can get
via phone.
Q: I haven't found
my subject property, can I still apply?
A: Yes. We
encourage home buyers to get pre-approved before shopping for
their new home. Please feel free to go through the application
leaving the subject property fields blank.
Q: Does applying
for a loan automatically lock in a rate?
A: No. Once
you put your loan into process you can call (800) 622-3518 and
lock a rate between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. PST, Monday through
Friday.
Q: How do I check
rates daily?
A: By calling
us at (800) 622-3518 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. PST, Monday
through Friday.
Q: I'm hesitant
about giving my personal information. Is this site secure?
A: Our site
uses secure internet protocols when transferring sensitive
information. We also do not ask for any account numbers or
credit card information. If you feel uncomfortable providing
your name or Social Security number you may call us with it. For
a more complete explanation of our security policies, please see
our security statement.
Q: Is there any financial obligation to completing the
application?
A: There are
no fees associated with completing the information.
Q: I have an
appraisal, can I use it?
A: Only if
it's less than 6 months old. You will also need to contact the
lender whose name appears on the appraisal. They will have to
give their permission for the appraiser to reassign the
appraisal in our name.
Q: Can I choose my
own title company?
A: Absolutely.
We are happy to work with any title company you request. If you
do not specify a title company when you go into process we will
automatically default to one of our providers.
Q: How long will
it take to close this loan?
A: Generally
we can close your loan comfortably within 30 days. However, if
there is a delay in receiving your documentation, or there is a
problem with your title work or appraisal, a 30 day period may
not be sufficient.
Q: Can I choose my
own appraiser?
A: We need to
select the appraiser in order to avoid a potential conflict of
interest. Our regulators require that appraisals be provided by
pre-approved appraisers.
Q: What
documentation will I need to close this loan?
A: For a
complete list, please see our Loan
Process page.
